چکیده

In this work, a thin-film composite polyamide membrane with antimicrobial polyhexamethylene guanidine (PHMG) was fabricated by the combination of photo-induced and chemical grafting to enhance antifouling anti-biofouling properties membrane. The surface were evaluated using field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) images, attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), water contact angle (WCA) values, activity separation performance flux ability retain Ca2+ ions in water. maintained ratios after 9 hour-filtration humic acid bovine serum albumin (BSA) solutions. results showed that grafted membrane’s became tighter (the retention increased from 97.3% 98.6%), no bacteria observed on Meanwhile, anti-fouling also improved compared original

The Antiviral Action of Polyhexamethylene Guanidine Derivatives

Although the PHMG (polyhexamethylene guanidine) and other oligomer guanidines are known as highly efficient biocides against a broad spectrum of microorganisms and eukaryotic cells, the cell protection by PHMG derivatives has been established firstly in this study. The antiviral protection was also exhibited after 15 min pretreatment of different cell cultures with low-concentration of PHMG sal...

Characterization and effect of biofouling on polyamide reverse osmosis and nanofiltration membrane surfaces.

Biofouling is a major reason for flux decline in the performance of membrane-based water and wastewater treatment plants. Initial biochemical characterization of biofilm formation potential and biofouling on two commercially available membrane surfaces from FilmTec Corporation were investigated without filtration in laboratory rotating disc reactor systems. These surfaces were polyamide aromati...

Synthesis of Polyaniline/Polyamide composites as membrane and investigation of its properties

Practical applications of conducting polymers such as polyaniline as membranes are particulary limitedbecause of their poor mechanical properties. However by mixing polyaniline with some conventional insulatingpolymers such as nylon and preparation composite films through solvent casting or blending, it seems to be asuitable way in order to increase the mechanical properties of the conducting p...
